I created this blog to showcase images of me in vintage apparel. Upscale, casual, and lingerie. I was fortunate to work with a fabulous photographer in San Diego that started her own vintage clothing, online boutique. Sweet Bisou. I modeled in some stunning vintage clothing and lingerie. Name brand and fabulous. Landed to magazine covers working with her! Since then I became a lover of true vintage wardrobe and vintage reproductions. I became a collector. Currently I have about 30 beautiful vintage peignoir's. I own a few vintage dresses and vintage under garments, all of which I adore. I'm always looking for new pinup or vintage designers, brands or stores to represent and model in their line. I have such a wonderful, supportive social media following and fan base. I began writing article's and soon after was offered my 1st column. This was over 3 years ago. Since then I've written article's for several pinup publications. They are always happy to accept content and article's from me. Delicious Dolls Magazine is the biggest, most successful pinup magazine in the world! I'm a proud columnist and my column Pinup Talk by Dianna Prince has appeared in their special edition issues over 2 fabulous years now! On occasion I interview top professionals in pinup, but the majority of my article's feature model's I've styled. So it's a grand opportunity to offer my pinup academy clients to be published in Delicious Dolls Magazine. The owners are amazing and very selective, which is why it's such an amazing opportunity. Bellow are some examples of past article's I wrote and were featured in my column, in DD. Here are the links to my Facebook pages dedicated to my column's and articles. https://www.facebook.com/PinupTalkDiannaPrince/ https://www.facebook.com/ColumnistDiannaPrince/ The Pinup Profile in Pinupworship Magazine. This is my 2nd column I'm very proud of, and adore the owner Peter Smith. In this column I've interviewed top pinups, pinup photographers and featured my styling. Peter has a humongous social media following on Instagram, and the magazine has become a hit! Bellow are a few examples of my articles in my column The Pinup Profile. Image above by Pinup Dolls Photography Above are several product shots of me in vintage clothing, vintage lingerie and pinup outfits. Photographers Pinup Dolls Photography Tibi Rider Raymond Anthony Photography Cedric Jones Photography I keep a detailed log of the wardrobe I have for me, as well as the wardrobe I have to offer my academy model's. Thousands and thousands of dollars in wardrobe and an entire room that I call, Dianna Prince's Pinup Closet! I own everything from modern clothing that looks or can look pinup in style, bathing suits, dresses and gowns, skirts, sweaters, blouses, suits, costumes and my favorites which are true vintage. I currently own about 30 vintage peignoir's and babydoll negligee nightgowns. Every color, different styles and from the 1940's, 1950's and 1960's. I cherish them and have collected them iver the last 2 years. I never repeat an outfit or major garment when shooting. So wardrobe is essential for me as a professional pinup and vintage model and as a stylist with a pinup academy. As I mentioned above, all my shoots are for pinup magazine publication. There are several awesome pinup magazines that will also place ads for me and have many times. So when I model for a designer, boutique or company, there are endless opportunities to promote and advertise in exchange for bringing magazines new content. Plus my article's on designers and boutiques. I have a select few, amazing, personal photographers that travel to Vegas to photograph me several times a year and a couple of great local one's that I work often. I strive for high quality as a pinup model, stylist and columnist. Top quality photography is essential. Images above by RMH Photography Byington Photography I'd like to add a few amazing recommendations from a few people I've worked with for year and year now. I want to thank them all again, for the absolutely wonderfully fabulous remarks and compliments that are simply PRICELESS! " It always find it amusing when a recommendation starts out the model arrived on time as if that defines Professionalism. Kandi knows the work she puts in before arriving will pay major dividends. Kandi is a consummate professional that works with all the creatives involved in the images before appearing to the photographer. She sets the theme, concepts, and goals with everyone. She arrives with a MUA, hair stylist or has that done just before arriving. She arrives with the designer or clothing representative with the attire that will be featured. She knows the little details like wearing lose fitting clothes to the shoot so bra and other skin indentations do not become a problem for a particular fashion (e.g. Shoulder less). The designer serves as a stylist and ensures the clothes are worn properly, laces straight, draped correctly, and is catalogue or publish ready. Fashion assures and props are carefully selected. Studio or venues are selected appropriately for the “look” desired. The hair style favors both the attire and the model. The makeup also is complimentary to the fashion. This is particularly important for Pin up, cosplay, high fashion. Lets say you are shooting an ad for perfume called desire. Guess that the fashion would be better as lingerie than a house coat, (LOL), and the pose will sell the brand. Marilyn Monroe was credited with knowing how to present herself to look the most photogenic. Kandi shares that trait. She also realizes that only the photographer sees what the view finder represents and takes directions well. She selects photographers with enough experience and skill to direct the individual model. While merely small adjustments are required for Kandi other models require much more posing assistance ". Fred Haider Can Do Captures " Authentic. Kandi is by nature authentic and understands the importance of being authentic in images. In certain genres like pin up an authentic images even shot by a so so photographer beats a non authentic image shot by a skilled photographer. Nothing looks more fake then 2017 attire, props and venue for a 40’s - 60’s pin up. Kandi acquired the props and attire at her pin up academy and can make them available. Also the pose and expression should reflect the times. Kandi has old magazines and done the research that she teaches in the academy. She also knows photographers that can shoot a model and replace the background. They make an effort to shoot venues for that. I shot images of vintage RV’s, buildings, etc. Two weeks ago I shot a replica of the Oval Office that LBJ used. In all genres including artistic nudes being authentic is vital to take the image from good to great. Kandi allows the beauty inside to come out in her images. It is a hard to define commodity I call spirit. The more a model works with a photographer and develops a comfort level and they become more comfortable in their own skin. That then translates to better fashion poses. Models should check the work of the photographer, get references so they know the photographer is professional, respectful and easy to work with. Trust me a photo editor for Tiffany will check to see if the model exudes authentic confidence and grace in the image to book them. Kandi has the experience and skill set to share. I am certain she advises her models/students to Practice, practice, practice. Also she suggests models find the best photographers with a great portfolio to shoot Trade for, (Your time for theirs). Models would also be well advised to work with mentors like Kandi, skilled hair stylists and make up artists that want to build a portfolio showing off there skills. Make sure their work reflects the authentic you. Good luck models - have fun and success ". Fred Haider Can Do Captures Image above by Can Do Captures By Brooklyn Brat Images. Custom made by La Kiss Boutique " To Whom It May Concern,I am writing this letter on behalf of Dianna Prince. We have worked together for many years. She is the spokesmodel for my company LA Kiss.com
She is an excellent, dependable and hard working model. Vintage is her forte, and she is very knowledgeable about all aspects of the genre. Dianna brings creativity and excitement to every assignment. She is a perfectionist, very detail oriented. I think that her experience as a photographer has really added to her modeling skills, since she can see a shoot from both perspectives. Dianna will be a great addition to your team.
