10/27/2017 0 Comments Bad habits in bizLet me tell you my 2 cents from working with numerous people over the years.
Unprofessional people in biz do NOT want to be treated exactly how they treat others. Some people think an eye for an eye or giving folks a taste of their own medicine, works. I don't have that amount of excess time #1 to play games. #2 I'm not unprofessional so certain things I just won't do. Negative things that cause a negative reaction. People who have horrible communication, want me to always have great communication. People that make commitments and don't feel obligated to KEEP them, don't want me to commitment and never follow through. People who are constantly late. Not once in awhile but often. They don't want me to be late, having them prepared and waiting on me. People who pay late, wouldn't be pleased if I paid them late. People who cancel last minute, don't want me to cancel on them last minute! People who are behind on edits, on production, don't want to be the one waiting for me to produce. People who waste my time, take me for granted, don't want me to treat them the exact same way in return. My moto in biz is,.... we come together in biz to produce positive results! No 2 ways around that. I can think you're gorgeous, I can think you're funny, it can be pleasant working around you, you can be paying me or providing a service as trade. Alllll of that goes right out the window and down the tubes if you're unprofessional. I want to add that no one is perfect,.... we know this. But it's like throw me a freaking bone, please. How many unpleasant, unprofessional things am I expected to endure? It's one thing for something negative to happen once or on occasion. It's another for it to be a clear habit and pattern! That's in personal and in biz. If it's multiple negative things that all keep reoccurring, at what point will it be enough? We all have choices. The power to communicate, produce, keep commitments, show we value others and who we will work with and who we won't! If the bad outweighs the good, we have a problem. I'd expect no less of an outlook in return. What we bring to the table in biz has to backed up by positive actions. Production, professionalism. Please don't use the excuse that pinup is a hobby! Do you know how many women do pinup as a hobby and still act professional!!!! Do you know how many photographers that are brand new to pinup or do it as a hobby and still act professional? So it's a hobby or a once a year thing , or maybe you shoot often, what does that have to do with your level of commitment in biz? A clear pattern can not be ignored only accepted. I wanna give some examples of dolls doing pinup shoots as a hobby or once a year thing. Positive stories. Stories not at all uncommon. A gal, drop dead gorgeous, sweet as a button. From day one great communication. Never modeled a day in her life! Has a career. Wanted pictures for herself. Didn't want images for publication. Showed up on time, prepared and paid. Booked several shoots since then and always remained professional. An older woman who's not a model, not interested in being a model, but wanted to visit Vegas during Viva and get images. She booked a spot at 2 shoots, 1 I hosted, the other I co hosted. Paid her deposits, got her nails done, got her makeup professionally, bought new wardrobe and borrowed some of mine. She showed up early, excited, full of energy, prepared and ready to rock . Not a model, not even a hobby. 1st time shooting pinup, once a year pampering gift to herself and chose to visit here to do it. Another doll. Boy does she have a career! Chief in the Navy, still young! Single mom. Family woman, career woman. I'm quite sure to obtain and achieve all she has thus far took sheer commitment and obviously great communication. Since day one it was all about fun for her! She booked a family pinup shoot. It wasn't about being a, " model ". Wasn't about getting published. It was about getting pampered, getting away from work and life. Laughing and having fun! Always early or on time. I manage her pinup career because after so many shoots she has one. Never once late on fees. Has paid me in full online before her shoots. This young woman can literally be out to sea, or overseas training and every single month she pays on time! So my point is, PLEASE don't even try to tell me if pinup is a hobby YOU can't be professional. Why make it sound like the title of model means professional. I disagree. How many models flake, bail on commitments, cancel last minute, show up late, take people's time for granted, have horrible communication, won't research, won't invest? Yet how many non models do the exact opposite!!! Think about it. I honestly can't think of a single person in biz who enjoys working with someone who's late often, unprepared or has bad communication, or all the above. So I know it's not just me!

She was the first public topless dancer. Wikipedia Died: November 9, 2015, San Francisco, CA Movies: Head, Honky Tonk Nights In 1964 Doda made international news, first by dancing topless at the city's Condor Club, then by enhancing her bust from size 34 to 44 through silicone injections. Her breasts became known as Doda's "twin 44s" and "the new Twin Peaks of San Francisco".[2] On June 19, 1964,[8] when Doda was 26 years old, the Condor's publicist, "Big" Davy Rosenberg gave Doda a "monokini" topless swimsuit designed by Rudi Gernreich.[4] She performed topless that night, the first noted entertainer of the era to do so. The act was an instant success.[4] Two months after she started her semi-nude performances, the rest of San Francisco's Broadway was topless, followed soon after by entertainers across America.[5] Doda became an American cultural icon of the 1960s.[citation needed] Sly Stone was a young guitarist in the Condor's house band, but soon after Doda began performing topless he left.[citation needed] The Republican National Convention was held in San Francisco, during the summer of 1964; many of the delegates came to see Carol Doda. She was profiled in Tom Wolfe's 1968 book The Pump House Gang and appeared that same year as Sally Silicone in Head, the 1968 film created by Jack Nicholson and Bob Rafelson, and featuring The Monkees. The movie was produced by Columbia Pictures.[11]She appeared in a Golden Boy parody with Annette Funicello, Sonny Liston, and Davy Jones.[12]
Wikipedia Let's name this gorgeous and iconic Old Hollywood Glam starlets, singers and performers. So many beautiful and talented women of color graced the silver screen and stage. Taking some of the most breathtaking cinema shots. 1. Nichelle Nichols 2. Diana Ross 3. Etta Drucille Guyse 4. Etta James 5. Diahann Carroll 6. Dorothy Dandridge 7. Bellie Holiday 8. Joesphine Baker 9. Lena Horne And these lovely ladies are just the tip of the iceberg. There are numerous stunning and talented women of color throughout pinup history and Old Hollywood Cinema and Glam. In my Pinup Master Course I will cover several of the well known pinups and actresses of color and in the Advanced course we will cover many of the less well known but equally as beautiful and talented. Vintage Stylist Dianna Prince Nichelle Nichols Diana Ross Etta Drucille Guyse Etta James Diahann Carroll Dorothy Dandridge Billie Holiday Joesphine Baker Lena Horne Much like other iconic vintage starlets we recreated, channel and get styling inspiration from, these beautiful women were not models.
They modeled in images yes and some began with modeling but were very talented and became famous for acting, singing, dancing, performing, etc. Just like Ginger Rogers, Audrey Hepburn, Doris Day, Etc., etc. Gorgeous and super talented. 10/17/2017 0 Comments Cleopatra Recreation - Delicious Dolls Magazine ( Sexy Egyptian Queen Roxy Belle )Today I'm extremely happy!
Once again my styling, photography and article was published in Delicious Dolls Magazine! Quite an accomplishment on all 3 levels. Planning and preparing for any professional photo shoot takes lots of time, research and work. Especially recreations of Old Hollywood starlets or icons. Every detail must be planned before the shoot. Researching the icon must be done by everyone involved. Model, stylist and photographer. Details are essential in recreations. From the hairstyles, wardrobe, make up, nail polish, jewelry and accessories, to facial expressions and poses. The photography must match with the style that mag features. Delicious Dolls Magazine is not only one of the biggest most successful pinup magazines, IT IS the biggest in the world! I compare that to a modern day fashion model who lands a spot in Vogue. Or a bridal model being featured in Modern Brides Magazine. Etc. In pinup we have our own publications, websites, pages, groups, events, models, photographers, designers, boutiques and more. Pretty much everything any style of modeling has but within our own industry. Delicious Dolls Magazine is what I consider the cream of the crop in pinup. There's probably no one involved in pinup that doesn't know of them. They are what I'd call extremely selective. And I'm positive they receive hundreds of submissions every single month. Producing and publishing 2 issues every single month! So I am proud, feel a major since of accomplishment and adore seeing my creativity be published in DD. Thank you to Penny of La Kiss Boutique for the fabulous edits that were published. Roxy Belle did a wonderful and stunning job, as usual, on her makeup. Eygpt Queen. Her facial expressions and poses were on point! This is the gorgeous Kara. A lovely doll inside and out. Gotta love her smile and classic looks. She's a true beauty indeed. Great fisique too.
This shoot was the 1st Christmas Pinup shoot at The Dianna Prince Pinup of 2017. Many more to come. She did 2 bright and cheesecake pinup style looks and sets. Here are some behind the scenes shots and a couple that I love but didn't make the final cut. A few I edited just for her personal use and for showcasing my hairstyling and wardrobe work. This is look is a classic Cheesecake Pinup mixed with vintage. Definitely from head to toe not modern-day pinup. Bright colors, bright eyes and smiles yes. But some of her wardrobe is vintage and the rest looks it. The 2nd look was a Nutcracker, Toy Solider. My favorite costume I modeled in aside from my Wonder Woman. Both landed me a cover! She looked fabulous and sexy in it. I love the fact that she can fit most of my personal photo shoot wardrobe because I don't loan it out to all my clients. Please look for both sets to be published in December. The edits are great. For now enjoy these behind the scenes.
